Since I developed an allergy to the sulphites in wine, my cooking's gone downhill. You can do a lot of interesting things with, for example, a chicken but none equal to a coq au vin! As someone who used to put wine in nearly everything, I was unreasonably excited to discover a red wine flavouring that isn't made from wine.It is like wine - cheap, stale wine. It smells like empty glasses the day after a party, tastes much the same, and doesn't improve with cooking. Additionally, it isn't as strong as I expected so, should you inexplicably want to make a dish redolent of the cheap plonk your mate brought round a fortnight ago and never finished, you'd need at least half this little bottle.Pity.

Powerful but more like pear drops sweets flavour than natural pear flavour.

I’ve been purchasing the concentrated brown Salted Caramel flavour for a long time- you only needed a tiny bit, it was rich, delicious and viscous.I’ve just opened my latest bottle and it’s like water?! As in, clear and comparatively weak. It also tastes more artificial.Why was the recipe changed? I can’t eat sugar so this was my go-to flavouring for coffee, brownies, hot cocoa etc. Now I’ll have to find a new alternative.

Made gingerbread marshmallows and the flavour was awful, very chemical tasting even though it’s meant to be natural.
