REVIEW UPDATE:I started off giving this product one star (see my previous review below) but has now changed it to 5 stars due to appropriate steps taken by the seller. Earth Element is a great seller, great communicator and now ships the essential oil with the rubber dropper separate from the bottle so that the oil stays clean and uncontaminated. I am very pleased with the new and improved bottle. The English Lavender is very pure. And the price is one of the best - $25 for a large 1.8 fl oz bottle. Great product, great seller and great price. What more can you ask for?MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:The idea of a rubber pump was very very bad idea. Rubber deteriorates when exposed to essential oil, and that was just what happened to the bottle I ordered. For some reason mine came with the rubber pump crushed in (much like all the air sucked out of it) and literally reeked with a sickly very sweet melted rubber smell. I just about gagged, my lungs felt burnt. When I opened the bottle, essential oil had gone up the dropper all the way to the top. And yeah, the whole bottle was contaminated with the rubbery smell. I will not recommend this product, and I returned it to Amazon. What is there to assure me that the next bottle will stay clean? Even if the actual oil stay out of the dropper, the fumes from the oil will begin its work from the get go. At first I thought it would be neat to be able to measure my oil via a rubber dropper, but, as I found out, it is a very bad idea. No wonder most essential oil bottles are not bottled this way! Hard lesson learned. Do not buy.

The smell of lavender can lower heart rate and blood pressure. I don't know if it's lowering mine, but I do know that the instant I smell it, I go into a relaxed state.I've tried many lavender oils, and I've been putting drops of this Earth Elements lavender oil on my pillowcase for at least two weeks. It's the first one I've purchased that comes with an eyedropper which makes it easy to apply a few drops.I also set my ipod touch to play "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau all night long. I don't know if it's the lavender, the contents of Walden or the frequency of the reader's voice, but I now get a really good night's sleep after years and years of going without.Wonderful smelling lavender oil. Not for internal use.Other purported benefits of lavender oil:-- To help prepare for a test - inhaling the smell of lavender essential oil has might improve speed and accuracy on tests. You can diffuse it in the room where you study. It helps to alleviate any pre-test jitters. (I've also read that peppermint helps when taking tests. Suck on a hard peppermint candy, if you are able to, during or right before a test.)-- As a bathroom deodorizer, place a few drops on cotton balls and display them in a decorative dish on the counter. You can also insert some of the lavender cotton balls into the toilet paper roll, so the fragrance is disbursed whenever it turns.-- To repel bugs. Many insects don't like lavender.

After my previous review (see below) the seller contacted me to let me know that they had changed supplier for the essential oil and asked if I would like to try the product again. Good customer service for sure! Well the quality has certainly improved. The fragrance is that delightful, relaxing, soothing lavender that we love. I love giving my children baths with a few drops in it and using it blended with coconut oil to rub on our skin. Our house is smelling very fragrant right now! The plastic dropper of the bottle was still useless but like last time I will just transfer to a different bottle. I suggested to the seller to find an alternative so that the product can get a 5-star rating next time!Previous review - 3 stars:I've used essential oils for years and had just finished a bottle of exquisite lavender from France that I could not find online. The search for French Lavender yielded this result and I was keen to get the bottle. The smell is really nice but just doesn't have a good lavender smell. Other people who have smelled it have not been able to identify the fragrance either. Also the plastic part of the dropper looks half melted and dented so i may not be able to use the bottle again. I will use it happily but I'll look for another oil next time and save up for my ticket to France to get the real high quality stuff!

The product:This lavender oil has a very strong and pleasing scent. Love it. I bought this item mainly for alleviating my insomnia. In first a few days, I did not observe any improvement. However, I started seeing the effect after 5 days of use. I just placed couple of drops on my pillow. If you want to see better results, I am sure a hot bath can help too. Before using this product, I used to take 60 min to fall into asleep and wake up every 2 hours. After using this product, I fall asleep in 15 min and stay asleep for solid 6 hours.For people with allergies, please make sure you are not allergic to lavender oil. I did have allergy symptoms (headaches and stuffy nose) in first a few days. However, all these symptoms disappear after 5 days. I am not sure if it is caused by this product or not.This one is definitely a 5-star product, considering its quality, the pure scent and health benefits.The Seller:Deeahn, the seller, does her diligence to make sure customer is satisfied with the product and service.
