The Kwikset 660 Deadbolt has been my go-to lock for rental properties for years. It's a reliable, sturdy deadbolt that's easy to install and looks good in a matte black finish. I've never had any issues with these locks, and they provide the level of security I need for my rentals. The re-key feature is also incredibly handy for tenant turnover - it saves me time and the cost of replacing locks entirely. If you're looking for a durable, affordable, and no-hassle deadbolt for your rentals, I highly recommend it.

This deadbolt ships with a type "A" latch which may require chiseling or routing a rectangular recess on the edge of the door to accommodate the face plate that is integral with the latch. The instructions show either the "A" type or the "K" type, the latter having a latch with no face plate called a "drive-in" collar.The product description does not identify if you are buying the "A" or "K" latch. I unfortunately received the "A" type. However I had some lock sets salvaged from older locks and found a "K" drive-in collar latch that I could use. But your door already has a rectangular recess for a latch with a rectangular "A" style face plate this piece will work.Some other locks I have purchased in the past have the ability to pry off the rectangular face place so you can use the latch in a drive-in latch hole. However this lock does not have the additional hardware included to use either latch style so the rectangular face plate on this latch cannot be removed.Overall the lock installed with no other issues; the Smart Key feature allowed me to easily switch the keys shipped with the lock to keys I already was using for other locks in my home. This is the first time I have ever used this Smart Key change feature, it was remarkably simple and worked the first time.

Easy to install and the perfect match to my Kwikset knob I also bought from Amazon. Very easy to re-key to match your existing keys.
