Really good bottle - It doesn't leak if you do this...
Just pop the removable mouthpiece seal out of the lid and put it back in.When I received it and tested this bottle out over the sink it DID leak, but I removed the silicon seal that's in the lid (that stops water leaking from the mouthpiece when the lid's closed) and popped it back in and it's now 100% leak-proof! The seal is designed to be removed and cleaned which is great!I think that when they're brand new the seal is a bit flat, but removing it and putting it back lets it form back into the dome shape it was manufactured into, so it creates a perfect seal against the mouthpiece. It has a nice brushed steel finish on the exterior.Blows other bottles out of the water because it has a lid that you can use with one hand (no unscrewing!), it's 100% leak-proof, lockable, and has a massive capacity, all while being easy to clean and maintain and easy to handle. No risk of spillage around you laptop either.

Best bottle I've used
I've bought a few different types of bottles in the past and here's my pros and cons of this:Pros:- high volume. Other bottles I've found were smaller because they tried to appeal to the latest trend (the tapered at the top metal bottle design)- that little hole for air flow! A little detail but makes it so that you're actually drinking water and not gulping water- clasp on the lid - super helpful when carrying in a packed rucksack. Didn't have to worry about something accidentally clicking the open button and spilling the water everywhereCons:- gets a bit cold as it's metal but at least it's not plastic tbh- the hinge is a little strong but I think that'll loosen over time

Only ion8 bottle that leaks!
I'm so disappointed - everyone in my household owns at least 1 ion8 bottle each, I really rate them so when I saw a 1.2L metal version available I grabbed it as it will be ideal to keep at work for less refills during the day. Second time using it today and it leaks from the lid, a lot! Thought it might be me not screwing the top in correctly or the seal has moved but no, every time the bottle is knocked, water comes out the top.The plastic versions of this bottle you can tip upside down, shake, drop - pretty much anything and it never leaks at all. This metal one however is awful. Really disappointed.

Perfect
Essentially the perfect water bottle. Sturdy, steel container, easy to open, lock, and drink from.

Solid feel but not drop-leak proof
I bought the 1200ml version. Is relatively weighty (although it is the largest size) but not unexpectedly. The flow through the nozzle is great and the general feel of the bottle is good. However, this bottle has a problem with leakage. I have noticed that when dropped it always leaks water through the seal between the bottle neck and its screw top - this is leakage occurring with the lid locked closed too. Despite no signs of damage and only small drops in height (3-4ft) water escapes. I have also noticed that sometimes water does seem to leak out of the neck after the bottle has been picked up following a drop (moreso than you would expect if just a little water was shaken around upto the water seals when dropped). I have noticed the amount of thread on the bottle neck into which the lid screws and secures is not long enough. The lid closes tight with very little rotation and I suspect that this means the water tight seal is defeated when the bottle is dropped. Whilst this is acceptable to some, it defeats the point of having a lockable lid for me. Additionally the occasional leaks from the neck that have occurred more recently have meant I'm now seeking an alternative bottle. I've had plastic water bottles of near identical design that have not had this leakage issue, but the only difference besides plastic vs. metal construction was that my previous bottle had 2-3x times the screw thread and that I suspect is why this otherwise nice bottle is no good after only 3 months use.

Completely leak proof
When it comes to water bottles the one thing it needs to be is leak proof and this Ion8 stainless steel bottle certainly is. I gave it a good hard test, and not a single drop escaped. It has a nice metallic polished finish and is a single skin bottle so not to be used for keeping liquid at temperature or hot drinks, that's what a thermos is for.The push button lid springs open when pushed and stays open when tipped up so no lid hitting your face! The lid clicks in place securely and showed no signs of popping open when I shook it around. It has a small catch to lock the bottle for added peace of mind in case you accidently knock the button in a bag. The pour from the spout is controlled and when you've finished drinking and tip the bottle up it doesn't drip or run down the bottle, so its drip free. A hard plastic loop which can fold flat against the bottle is big enough to hold with your finger or attach a strap through for to attach it to your bag. This is a big bottle, if you are thinking of using for your bike make sure you measure, I don't think it will fit most bikes as claimed due to the bottle diameter and length. As per the photo it wouldn't fit my adult sized bike, even if I had a bigger bottle holder it wont fit inside the frame and may be unstable when riding which is the only reason for marking down a star. It would benefit from some form of rubber grip around the middle, if you have sweaty hands or condensation on the bottle it might make it easier to hold when full, but I didn't find this an issue. Overall I would recommend this reusable bottle to take on day trips, as it holds a good volume of water and is leak proof.

My favourite bottle yet
So, I've kind of got a water bottle problem. I have like 8 or 9 now but this is by far my favourite at the moment. It looks good and holds a lot of water.
