Shake Weight Men's- 5lb Arm Firming, Muscle Toning Dumbbell

I've had my Shake Weight for men for 2 days now and so far I really like it. The 6 minute DVD workout really does make your muscles burn! And my arms definitely swell up after wards just as if I'd been lifting weights. I can't say what the effectiveness will be in the long run but I don't see how this couldn't beef someone up.One thing I'll say is that I don't really feel a workout in my chest. I may have felt a little soreness there today but not much. The workout DVD goes over 3 workouts and the Shake Weight comes with a card showing those workouts plus one more that isn't demonstrated in the video. My plan is to do all 4 every day. Maybe I will notice it in my chest more?I do have concerns that this could hurt someones back if they have had previous back injury but it doesn't seem to be bothering mine.Overall it is a well made product and I think it's going to do a good job making my arms a little more cut. And honestly it's a lot more fun to use than plain old lifting weights. 4 Stars!Oh and I noticed someone else's review saying just to buy the female shake weight...I don't get that because the one for men is 5lbs and the female version is 2.5lbs....11/14/10 UpdateI still think this is a good product. If anything I keep slipping up and stop using it for a week or two. But my arms are definitely more defined. Especially my triceps! I've never been able to see any definition in that area but they are bulging out now when I flex. I'm going to try to stay devoted to doing the workout twice a day now and really accelerate the muscle growth.A quick bit of info..at first it may seem that it is slimming down your arms. What I've noticed is that it burns any fat off first and then the muscle growth begins. Don't be discouraged. Even using it off and on I am definitely more toned than I ever was. I'm gonna push this thing to the max and see just how ripped it can make me.

I have watched the videos and heard all of the jokes about this piece of fitness gear!While I was watching YouTube presentations as one "body-builder" after another basically said "it's a huge joke" and then threw the weight down, I couldn't help but noticed how exhausted and out of breath they were, while dismissing its value to fitness fenatics.Well... I'm no stranger to fitness myself, fitness was a huge part of my 20+ year military career where I had the collateral duty of being the fitness coordinator at many of my commands. Cardio is key, no matter how much "bulk" you have on your frame.So, rather than purchase ONE of these Shake Weights, I purchased TWO... why? Well, I noticed that it's far too easy to use one arm, forearm or shoulder over the other when both hands are on one weight. With two shake weights, you extend both arms and are assured that both are receiving equal load, stress and conditioning. I do 90-second intervals and the conditioning is immediately apparent. Tightness through the shoulders, deltoids, back and fore arm muscles and tendons happens immediately and at first you do become quite winded. If you don't feel that you did enough, just increase the intensity.My wife (also retired military) and I both leave the shakeweights in the kitchen... whenever we are warming up coffee or doing some minor task in the kitchen that involves waiting, we grab the weights and do mini-sessions.It's exercise at our fingertips and a workout we otherwise wouldn't be doing... because it's mostly a cardio activity, no risk of overtraining.It's NOT going to put heavy muscles on your arms, shoulders chest or back... it's a conditioner and at best "toner"... exactly what I expected.YES, I would definitely endorse it to any friend who can stop laughing long enough to seriously use it. It Works!

I purchased the Shake Weight when I was advised by my MD to cut back on my traditional weight training program after sustaining a couple of injuries. Accordingly, I have used the Shake Weight to either supplement a modified weight training routine or as the sole routine during intervals when I was advised not to exercise using traditional weight training methods.At the very least the Shake Weight has allowed me to maintain my present physical condition. In addition, it certainly provides a feeling of satisfaction. While it does not produce the "burn" of traditional weights, it most definitely imparts a feeling that is quite analogous to the sensation supplied by traditional methods. Furthermore, when used with vigor, it certainly gives the impression that one has sustained a workout session that is actually much longer in length.Accordingly, I have been quite pleased with this purchase, and so much so that I actually purchased a second sample so as to have it available at more than one location without having to transport it... Not that its 5 pounds would be a hardship to carry... In fact it seems incredible that its mere 5 pounds is capable of delivering such a notable effect!Two final notes: The model provided by Amazon is an attractive grey with silver and black accents as opposed to some of the hideous colors I have seen in models for sale in retail outlets. In addition, the DVD provided is quite useful in explaining how to achieve results on both a novice and advanced level. However, for optimal results I would suggest progressing to the more advanced level as soon as possible.

My nearest neighour has one and it comes with instructional DVD which he has to watch at my place, memorize, and do it where he calls home. It's a winning combination but I would synchronize.
