Best tool for the job... Yes, any job!
So, if for some strange reason you find yourself in the same situation as myself (needing to rip railroad ties in half) This is the best blade for the job. However, WITH THAT SAID... walk away from that project. The Demo-Demon blade did a much better job on the ties than any other blade that I used, but the project was too much for any blade to handle. The blade deserves a 5-star rating because its function and longevity stood up to what I was throwing at it much better than any other brand/model of blade that I used. For perspective, the blade lasted for only 2 rips in 9' railroad ties. I didn't hit any stakes, nails, pins, etc. Its just the nature of the tar and creosote mixed with the pitch, sand and grit that just destroys blades. I wasn't able to get any other blade to last more than ripping 1 tie.For those wondering, yes I wore protection while cutting the ties, hat, mask, long sleeves, eye protection, ear protection, etc.

Got nails?
Bought this to cut out old subflooring. It eats nails for breakfast and I have not been one bit kind to it. All teeth are still in place and it cuts like a champ.

This blade is great, until it's not.
The other reviews are more or less correct.I got this based on a couple of youtube videos recommending using a demo blade (this one specifically) to speed the clean disassembly of pallets. The first few cuts were like butter. Four cuts before I started losing the carbide teeth. By the fifth cut many were gone and the blade stopped cutting. I suspect it might have been a speeds and feeds thing and that I was trying to cut too fast for the carbide tips to handle cutting through the nails. Or perhaps someone used a drywall screw or something equally dumb. In any event, the carbide tips of the blades broke off and the blade stopped being able to cut.I'm going to buy another one and pay more attention to how fast I cut and see if that makes a difference in the blade lasting. Even if it does, it seems like the claim that this blade can cut through nails leaves the wrong impression (and thus isn't really a reasonable one to make): true, it can cut through nails, but it's not going to last very long if that is what you're going to do with it.Hopefully there is another blade out there that can cut wood and nails and not get worn out so fast (or at all.) The search continues.
