Inexpensive simple and effective
After a month I figured I would write a review based on my experience so far.I bought these after reading a few articles about them. Seemed like a great inexpensive solution. I live on a very dense green belt in the Pacific Northwest that has a creek a few hundred feet away as well. Every year, we have a terrible mosquito problem by May.I filled two five gallon buckets (placed on both ends of the yard) about 3/4 of the way full and dropped some organic matter in the bucket, things like grass clippings, leaves, etc. Then I simply dropped the dunk into it.A few days later, I saw larvae in the water. The mosquitoes definitely seemed attracted to it, and so far we have not had any moquitos around or bites. Success so far. I will update if things change.

Results Seen Within Just a Few Hours!! 🦟
These mosquito dunks were a godsend! We recently bought a 2-acre property requiring indoor and outdoor renovations and some old concrete multi-tiered bird baths were left behind. They were so full of stagnant standing water and leaf litter that hundreds of mosquito larvae were visibly squirming about adjacent to our driveway. Within just a few hours, I already saw results and within 24-48 hours, ultimate effectiveness had been obtained. Now I’m able to immediately clean out the fountain bowls without releasing hundreds of almost mosquitos into the flowerbed.I didn’t notice any sort of detectable odor and my dogs did not seem interested in investigating these dunks once I had them placed. One of the clear covers arrived loose along the cardboard edge, so some of the dust had spilled out and escaped, but I’ve been so impressed with the results that I’d definitely purchase them again!

Read this before you use the product
I have been treating my indoor plants religiously for four months to no avail. I had been soaking water with mosquito dunks in 5 gallon buckets and using that to water plants. If you are dealing with the same problem, you know it can bring you practically to tears to see these horrible insects increasing in numbers. What I learned was that my tap water is so chlorinated that it was killing the BTI bacteria which I ignorantly thought was propagating. When you set out on this adventure, make sure you boil your water at a rolling boil for 20 minutes to vaporize chlorine first, and of course let it cool or use chlorine free water. Also, I put white bowls of soapy water everywhere and they fly in by the hundreds for a drink and drown.

This stuff works!
I rarely write reviews, so when I do, I’m usually pretty happy or pretty disappointed with the product. These things are incredible. I put two separate buckets about 20 feet away to the right and the left of my front porch, where we like to sit. And within 10 days, I would say there’s at least a 90% reduction in mosquitoes out here. Incredible.

Seem to be working
I am so far very pleased with these. I have to admit I was not sure they would work. I have had them up for almost 2 months now and as a fellow mosquito magnet I would get bit the second I was outside even with repellent, I have spend several hours out in our yard and not been attacked. So far they are doing the job

These Work Great!
I love these! Created 6 mosquito buckets in my yard using these dunks. I love that they don't harm the good pollinators...only mosquitos and some gnats. Super easy to use. I am already noticing that they are working well.

Does its job!
Central NY has gotten tons of rain leaving my property with two small “ponds” - I used these last summer and now this year and they made a huge difference!

Insecticide free control
$2-3 cheaper than in box stores, these dunks are good for ponding water and swampy areas around the garden. Best if monitored for water level below a roof overhang, you don't want rain water to overfill your dunk container when possible. Dunks can be placed in a small bucket or coffee can; drill overflow holes 3-4" from top of container to prevent losing your dunk. Break them in half for smaller containers around the yard. Don't forget to re-supply dunks after a while or you will be helping -not killing- the mosquito population.
