Pieta - Sacred works

Any new release by Philippe Jaroussky is reason to cheer. Give me also the Stabat Mater, and I am in heaven. Mr. Jaroussky has lost none of his purity of voice, or his interpretive powers, and it is a delight to hear him in a work that I have listened to many times by another favorite countertenor, James Bowman. These two splendid singers are worlds apart in the production of their voices, as well as in the style of performance, but both manage to give a performance that is a class by itself. On balance, I like the orchestral sound of The Academy of Ancient Music for James Bowman better, but the crisp articulation and obvious joy in music-making of Ensemble Artaserse is also beguiling. It is good to know that I don't have to give up one for the other.The opening track, "Clarae stellae" immediately draws you in that special Vivaldi world of his sacred music, so different from his operas.Recorded sound is very good, intimate but not too close. Recommended.

High quality studio recording. Particularly impressive the echo used, creating a cathedral sound effect. Vivaldi interpreted superbly by a true castrati voice.

When product arrived, I was demanded to pay 4 USD custom fee +taxes. I returned the product for that reason. Otherwise the pruct I guess was fine. I did not use that.

Absolutely remarkable recording.. I've listened to this CD each weekend since it arrived. Extremely soothing sound on a rainy morning. I don't have a clue who Philippe is, but he's great and I want more of the sound.As background, I'm more of a Top 40 radio guy myself, not a classical specialist.

Philippe Jaroussky and Ensemble Artaserse present this Cd Pietà with many sacred masterpieces by Antonio Vivaldi.Whether the mood is joy, devotion or extas, you will sense the intensity of emotions. The sensation is so strong that you have the tendency to just start from track number 1 when you've just listened to all 30.The cd includes marvelous interpretations of Clara Stelle e Scintillata and Stabat Mater. The track Domine Deus from Vivaldi's Gloria is one of the best interpretations to date. This interpretation is recorded with a lovely strong devotion making it absolutely brilliant.

Me gusta mucho Jaroussky y en mi opinión, este es uno de sus mejores discos. La pureza de la voz lega a lo insuperable.El stabat mater de vivaldi es maravilloso. Absolutamente recomendable!!

Die Stimme von Philippe Jaroussky ist zart und doch kraftvoll und voller Emotionen. Einfach hinreissend. Ein hervorragendes Beispiel dafür, wie die Stimme zum INstrument werden kann.

Ce type a de l'or dans la voix... Non seulement, c'est un bon contralto, mais il a du coffre et de la maitrise de son art, et des ornements vocaux propre au Baroque...Un véritable régal, dès que vous appréciez la musique des "crastrati"
