Use a dryer, no water to expand
The trick is a clothing dryer on high heat. Make sure they aren't over packed. They do have to have room to tumble in the dryer. Tumble on high heat for 10 minutes and they will fully expand. They do smell terrible but that will go away over time. Also, use map pins to put them up. Tape never works and if it does, it will ruin your wall. Pins holes can be painted over much easier.

Decent enough product
Why does adhesion get stars. There is no backing and the nothing sticks to them with out glue to help out. What do I write. Most of the tiles are good. A few are misshapen. Must have happened at factory when they produce them.Soundproofing might not be a good description for these. Or my grandkids are just too loud. I like the look. I have bought 3 packages of these and will buy 150 more.Do not have too high of an expectation from these

Bought twice but panels are different for each order?
I bought the 96 count of black panels and they came in very nice! However I realized I needed more than that so I bought another 96 count, the same order as before mind you, and the panels are a dark gray and a completely different thickness? Not sure if I'm doing this right but I'm a bit irritated the same order I bought the last batch from is completely different to the first order.. everything needs to be consistent or it looks super odd when it's all put to together

Tape
The doble sided tape does not hold up on the product, it sticks well to the celling but not on the product. From the other order i purchased, it was clear double sided tape that works well. As of right now I'm not able to finish the job.

These were so wonky!
The black tiles were PERFECT. However..... the two stacks of purple were so tightly packed and probably cut thinner that they only puffed back up to MAYBE a quarter of an inch after being left alone for much longer than the black ones had needed to get back to size. 5/5 for black tiles and a 1/5 for the purple tiles. I would buy the black again but do not waste your money on this multi color one!!

Just Make Your Own
I purchased these, along with a few other sound deadening products, a few days before I found a bunch of videos on YouTube showing how to build your own sound treatment panels. I wish I had seen the videos first. I got 96 of these things and filled my small home studio with them. And while there is a slight noticeable reduction in reverberation in the room, it doesn't quite work as I expected. I also bought a crap load of those double sided adhesive pads to mount them with but they won't stay stuck to them. After mounting them all, I left and came back about 20 minutes later to find most of them had fallen to the floor. The pads were still stuck to the wall, but the foam doesn't like to stick to the pads. Also, these are very thin and not as dense and sound absorbent as Auralex. If you're a small streamer who just wants a little sound treatment then maybe these will work for you. But if you're setting up a recording studio then steer clear of these and go find something more professional, or take a look at those YouTube videos on how to build your own panels.

Works great!
I used this for extra insulation in my bedroom! Easy to install, I just used heavy duty staples. Looks great.

Sound dampening goodness.
"Sound Dampening Goodness" One inch thick foam is not going to sound proof anything. But that's not what this is designed for. I used it on the walls in a 4'X5' vocal booth and it stops the bounce completely. Nice, dead room. Highly recommend for reducing room reverb/bounce. Rock On..

Great echo proofing
I had bought my first pack as a test to see how they worked out (and to see about the colour). I opened then and was nervous about them. But they puffed up right away and everything worked out perfect. Soooo I bought a second pack and am almost done my project. They are not SUPER soundproof, but they do definitely dampen echo. I built a soundproof room with many layers. But once I added these, they really killed the echo to were I am finally happy with my project room. I would recommend these, I just wouldnt buy them as a 100% guarantee to soundproofing. They are very nice style and they will help cut down echo in a room.

Very good product
This is a very good product. I bought it to fully cover the walls and ceiling of my music room. Even though most reviews on YouTube show the 2" tiles, I chose this 1" because it's much cheaper and because I felt that 1" would do the job if I covered all the surfaces. It definitely does a satisfactory job and I think I made the right decision. I needed over 350 tiles to do an entire 10x10 room. All of the tiles were evenly cut. There was no real trouble puffing them out. I opened the tiles and let them expand overnight. I also laid them evenly out on the floor to expand correctly. The next morning I threw them in the drier on low heat for about 15 minutes to fully expand.I went with 1 1\4" T-Pins rather than adhesive for the backing. Minimum 4 pins per wall tile and 9 pins for ceiling tiles, so take that cost into account. I ended up paying almost $160 just on pins.As for a smell, I was concerned after reading some reviews. There's definitely a smell after unpacking but I stopped noticing it after airing out the room. If there's any changes I'll update.Hope this helps.

Good low-cost reflection dampening
Lots of foam for not much money. This helped cut down a lot of the reflections in my office when doing voice overs. They are thin, but they do a decent job. Stick well with 3M double-sided tape.I’m using the leftovers again two years later on another podcast space.
