Starwest Botanicals, Organic Cleavers Herb C/S

This is a weed plant that I learned about at an Herb talk. The taste is good and I am down 5 lbs. I drink a cup twice a day. Has many benefits.

I used this product to make a cleavers infusion for spring cleaning and detox. I also use it in combination with other herbs in a respiratory blend. Cleavers are great for moving stuck fluid and stimulating and cleaning out the lymph system.Our bodies are 60% water, and 26% of that is "interstitial fluid" - the fluid between cells and around capillaries. This fluid contains nutrients moving from blood capillaries to cells through diffusion. It also holds and transports waste products discharged by cells from metabolism. Problems with lymph drainage or uptake may lead to edema, swollen lymph nodes, and even cancer.Since approximately 75% of adults in the US are chronically dehydrated, this means that the blood and the interstitial fluid contains less water. Just like when engine oil is used, it becomes thicker from deposits and eventually turning into a sludge-like substance, your blood and interstitial fluid can do the same. Old oil makes your car's engine work harder and use more fuel in the process. I believe this is true of being dehydrated. Your body and your heart have to work harder.By being dehydrated, the interstitial fluid has less water, carries less nutrients and removes waste less effectively. Cellular metabolism waste and toxins from the blood supply can clog up and eventually impede lymph drainage. When this happens, you're setting up conditions for disease.Taking cleavers, along with staying property hydrated, will help purge your lymph system and allow for your interstitial fluid to function as intended: constantly washing, bathing and providing cells with nutrients.

You can actually tell it's fresh from the strong, almost sweet scent it gives off.The name cleavers refers to the plant's ability to cling (or cleave) to fur or clothing. Cleavers is also known as Goose Grass. It's a valuable diuretic that's often taken for skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. It helps treat swollen lymph glands and it acts as a general detoxifying agent in serious illnesses like cancer and in various chronic illnesses. It can be helpful for kidney stones and other urinary problems. Apparently the extract is known to help lower blood pressure as well.Excellent product!
