Buying Again
I just got this keyboard case last week, and as anyone who reads tech reviews know the jury remains out on devices like this for quite a while since during the first year or two of use many break down, usually, it would seem, just after the return window has expired or if not then just after the warranty has expired. But my first impressions of this keyboard are 5 star. The case is attractive metal. It seems sturdy and likely to protect well. It accommodates several different screen angles. My I-Pad fit perfectly and seems securely held. The keyboard paired immediately with my I-Pad. The keys themselves feel good to the touch. The only negative if it matters is the case is on the heavy side; weighing somewhat more than the Anker keyboard it replaces. ( that keyboard lost the ability to hold my I-Pad screen upright and two of it’s keys stopped working. I did have it for a while, however, so I don’t feel I was ripped off even if I would have liked better.Follow-up after two years. My first impressions provided above were all substantiated over the next two years. It had a long battery life, connected well, was easy to use, and I liked typing on it. But just yesterday things started going haywire. If I hit some keys I didn’t see the letter of the key I hit, but might see nothing or I would be taken out of the place I was and found myself in Safari. I don’t know what went wrong, but expect that something happened so that it gets a signal that one of the function keys is being held as I type a letter or something else I don’t understand. But I hit a full two years of frequent use out of it and until now it always worked perfectly, including staying well affixed to my I-Pad. No keyboard cover I had has endured this long or worked this well. Also it sells for less than most keyboard case options that get decent reviews. So I am buying the same keyboard to replace this one. If I have problems with it early on I will return with another update so that you don’t make a mistake based on this one.

A Great Case with a Good Bluetooth Keyboard
I like this thing for two reasons — one is the keyboard: it works very well, has great battery life, and the lighted keys help me find my way in my dim room. Yeah, it’s on the small size, but so it the iPad. If you had a giant keyboard with a 9-10” screen, it would look a bit ridiculous. The other reason I like this is its sturdiness: it feels very tough, the hinge doesn’t feel loose (I’ll check that again in 6 months to a year) and the iPad is securely in place. It’s also hefty, meaning I could probably crack a bad guy over the head and cause some damage.I hesitated paying as much as I did for what I saw as basically a Bluetooth keyboard, but I can flip it open, set it on a table, and it looks like a little laptop or netbook. I do not regret buying this. The one “con” is that while the outer material feels nice to the touch, it picks up finger grease like a cheap napkin. I don’t know if there’s a solution for that, but considering all the “pluses”, I’m willing to put up with it.

Versatile and well made lighted iPad keyboard case with a few minor flaws
I have been experimenting with various keyboard cases for for my iPad air 2; this one is better than most. This review is based on two days' use; if anything changes I will supplement my review. UPS damaged the outside carton but the keyboard case emerged intact.Pros:-quality construction-excellent typing feel-with a universal hinge, flexible positioning of the screen relative to the keyboard is easy, including full folding over for use without the keyboard-very good protection for the iPad-No need to remove either the iPad or the keyboard from the case-Bluetooth connects quickly and easily, although if keyboard is unused for more than a few minutes you have to re-pair using the iPad's settings function-keyboard has positive on-off switchCons:-Right side shift key is small and poorly positioned for touch-typing-keyboard has copy and paste keys but no cut key, even though function keys are generally well provided-unclear whether flexible joint connecting iPad cover to keyboard case will stand repeated use over time-several of the instructions in the manual didn't work with this keyboard but finding the correct combination of keys was not difficult-Despite a good instruction manual vendor attached an ugly plastic sticker to the keyboard telling you how to pair; it was a time-consuming mess to remove and to clean up the residue.Except for the flexible joint this keyboard is similar to those made by Zagg; under normal use they function like a small laptop, which is what many of us are seeking. I expect to use it as my preferred keyboard, particularly as Anker no longer makes a model to fit my older iPad air 2.Update after one week:1. Keyboard feel is very good and I am getting accustomed to the unduly small right shift key.2. Pairing is excellent. Open the keyboard, press the "home" button twice, and pairing occurs without delay.3. The bottom of the keyboard case slides easily on a hard surface such as a desk or table, and seems prone to scratching if you aren't careful. A fabric placemat between the case and the table works well. I am considering glueing four half-inch cork discs to the base of the case to protect it and reduce movement on smooth surfaces. I like the 360 degree swivel feature with its multiple positions for the iPad but worry that it won't hold up well over time. I plan to put the keyboard case with iPad into a fabric sleeve for travel, to protect the outside of the case and because of the swivel it doesn't close as solidly as clamshell cases without the swivel.4. The lighted keyboard is useful in low light conditions; variable brightness is helpful but seven different colors seems excessive.Update after seven weeks:Earlier assessments remain accurate in my view. The only additional observation is that the bottom cover of the keyboard, which is made of a different material than the top cover, has deteriorated during seven weeks of use. It stains easily and the stains seem impossible to removed. it remains to be seen whether other product quality issues arise over time.

Great keyboard
My biggest worry when buying this was that the keyboard would like many other cheap keyboards and go into sleep mode too after a few seconds. But I was pleased to find that it stays alert even after long pauses between typing. I also found the keyboard good for touch typing. The function keys were also really good and worked without issue. The keyboard lights are fun.The hinge on the unit is stiff and strong and can turn 180° allowing it to be folded flat with the screen on the outside.I do have criticisms, but this is more of the concept than the product. Although the hinge is stiff, the screen does still wobble a bit, especially annoying if you do need to touch the screen. The keyboard has weight which is what you want in a laptop type configuration, but makes your ipad very heavy when it is being used as a tablet. It wouyld have been nice if the keyboard could be detached from the ipad.

Works well, although a little heavier than expected
First time that i bought a keyboard for my iPad so nothing to compare with. It's heavier than I expected although it holds the iPad Pro 9.7 (first gen) quite well and is sturdy. Some keys stick a little bit and hte charge seem to last long (if turning the keyboard on and off).

A truly excellent keyboard.
I do not usually write reviews for ‘stuff’, but on this occasion I am.Though I have only had this item and used it for a few days, thus far I am really impressed with it’s design, build quality and functionality. (I have only given it 4 stars for battery life because this is as yet to be proven - but if it’s as good as everything else then it’ll be good.)Pairing to the iPad is simplicity itself ...Despite what some others have said, mine will produce a £ symbol by using Shift 3 ...3 levels of keyboard illumination if you want them in 7 colours, and to prolong battery life these automatically turn off after about 30 seconds if no keys pressed, but then automatically turn back on when another key is pressed ...The Caps Lock light isn’t on the key, but at the top which might seem a little unusual, but easy to get used to ...It likely does other things as well, and I’ll discover these as I go along. The multi-direction hinge seems robust enough, and I’m sure if used with care will last a long time - just remember it’s not a hinge on a Barn Door!So all in all?If you didn’t know it’s price and were demonstrated this, I doubt you’d believe it when told it’s only just over £30 - easily one of the best computer accessories I have ever bought.

Works well with my iPad Air 2 (A1566)
I ordered this to replace the old case/keyboards on my iPad Air 2 or Air 5 (hinges on both cases cracked after years of use). I found this case/keyboard only fitted my iPad Air 2; the Air 5 wouldn’t clip into position at the top. I wasn’t surprised it only fitted one, as the old cases weren’t interchangeable. This new case feels good quality and the keys feel nice to type on. After I charged it up, I switched it on and pressed Fn+C to start pairing which I finished In the iPad bluetooth settings. There is a helpful label on the keyboard describing these steps. I like the area on the keyboard to rest my hands on, which I didn’t have with my previous cases. So far so good; happy with this purchase
