Good on the back, but these weigh 780 grams, not 740
I think these are the 3C Maxx Terra, not Dual Compound, but strangely it doesn't way at all on the tire. It just says EXO/TR. With a tube measured 2.20 inches wide, tubeless measures 2.30 inches wide. Pretty good on the back for XC / light to normal trail stuff. Tail has slipped out a little but no crashes yet. I just got back from a couple downhill sessions with a much heavier Super Tacky DHF on the back, and I really hated the extra 3/4 pound on the back. The Rekon feels (and is) very fast, and grips surprisingly well. Not quite as good as a DHF and doesn't stop quite as good, but for the weight these tires are very, very good, I think the best grip for the weight out there. Acceleration is very good, climbing good, grip is a lot better than the relatively small knob size would predict. If you have an XC bike or a shorter travel trail bike these tires are a must-try. Front is Rekon 2.6, I just don't trust myself with something that measures 2.30 on the front lol.

Good tire. less roll resistance
This tire replaced a maxis high roller which had a very aggressive knob pattern. This tire is a good overall cross country tire bike t doesn’t have the gold power in sharp banked turns

Superb Tire!!
This tire is terrific!! I just updated my bike---traded in my ten year old Specialized Enduro for the 2018 PIvot Mach 5.5---this bike is Insane!! Regarding sizes of tires and performance---I took out a bike with 3 inch tires, and I think they are a tad too big. Pivot and Maxxis was trying for the happy medium between the 2.2 and 2.3 we all used to ride, and the 3 inch big tires, and I think they nailed it perfectly. This 2.6 size dosen't fold over, and my rims are designed to take this tire on, apparently that has been a problem on some bigger size tires performance. This size offers noticeable improved traction, and still feels lively and steerable. I ride a lot of mud and rocks and roots, and it is doing great! My friend has this tire for his Yeti SB5 in the 2.8 inch size, and he loves it, but like I said I think you have to have a rim able to handle that much tire. My bike won't fit bigger than 2.6, so I can't comment, but it sure is great tire. cheers!

Very Happy With These Tires!
Ordered these as my replacement tires on my 2019 Trek Fuel EX 8, and I noticed an instant improvement on cornering grip and better tracking on banked hills. They put the stock Bontragers to shame. The compound is noticeably softer, so these will probably wear out quicker than my OE tires, but I'm ok with that. The safety and handling you get on these tires are a great tradeoff.

Better than ardent
The 3C on Rekon are great but wear quickly over dual. 2.6 over 2.4 make up for 3C in my opinion.

Incompatible with thinner rims
Got this as a front tire without knowing that it needs rims larger than 25mm to work properly. Disappointed.

These are great tires. I've ridden all sorts of tires over ...
These are great tires. I've ridden all sorts of tires over the last 15 years and the quality of these is on the top of the spectrum. They are right below a plus size, but still have a large contact patch, with very good rolling resistance (low). Grip is excellent and I've taken them through varied terrain, with some drops and jumps....I ride rocky tecnical sections often and they gripped like a goat. Coming off a set of High Roller II's, which are very good tires as well, but slower rolling. Anyhow, very satisfied and will be running these for a while. I may put a 2.8 in the front eventually, but this is great so far after about 40 miles on them.

My new favorite
Love this tire! Was using a DHR before and this thing rolls WAY faster in the Arizona desert. Also a pretty light tire, and the dual compound rolls faster than 3c. Surprisingly good grip as a front tire when turning over dusty hard pack. Don't think I'll buy minions anymore after this, except maybe a DHF in front, and Rekon in back! Give it a try if you run a minion and think you would like a faster roller.
