Caperberries can be used as an alternative to olives in pasta salads. Caperberries are a caper bud that has begun to bloom giving it a softer texture and larger size. Mediterranean in origin with aromatic, earthy, vegetal flavour with mustard, wild thyme, and lemon notes Excellent in tapenade or in a Sauce Remoulade for fried fish or shellfish. Good in creamy vinaigrettes, salsas, or in a martini in place of the olive garnish.

Mushy not crispy
My husband and I get caperberries on a charcuterie tray for a local fine-dining restaurant and I just love them. Hadn't been able to locate them at my local markets so I was willing to pay what I regarded as a high price for these caperberries. Unfortunately, when I opened the first jar on Saturday for a luncheon platter I was assembling, I was SO disappointed that they were all (apparently ALL, since I did not eat every single one but I sampled 4 or 5, which is all I wanted to eat at the time) and those sampled were all mushy and smallish. Smallish would be okay, but the ones I have had locally are satisfyingly crispy and these were not pleasant at all. I did not put them on my platter Saturday and I will probably throw away the remains of that jar and the unopened jar. I can't imagine sending back glass jars of what are essentially a soggy pickle product. Too much trouble for a $10, or however much it was, bad choice.

Very tasty...
Fine product. Recommend refrigerating before use as this seems to make the berries firmer and not so soft. now with these in cooking, the most just dissolve like butter but a few still retain their berry fullness.so if you really like capers, then you will really like this item.as an addendum...the packing was 5 stars. the "tube" that the jars came in is now a lumbar support for my desk chair.fine item and a free lumbar support...win-win!

MAJOR Disappointment
I have caperberries on a charcuterie tray in a local restaurant and love them. When put in charge of a tray for an outing with my friends I was so excited to include them and bought these to impress. When I opened the jar they were complete MUSH and so incredibly gross. I could not even identify if they had possibly gone bad. If I had the ability to get my money back for them I would. Looking back on the previous comments made, this apparently is a problem with this particular brand and had I thought to look, I wouldn't have purchased them. I don't write reviews, EVER, so for me to take the time to do this you know it had to be bad. There is a one star rating because the system makes you give some form of a star...if given the choice, there would be no stars given (that should be an option).

Very tasty and unique. Perfect for a party!
They are tangy and so delicious. Perfect on charcuterie board with cheeses and cold cuts. Great with smoked salmon too! Theyβre hard to find and I was delighted to do so. I included 2 jars in a hostess gift recently and they were a hit!

Plump and tasty caper berries
Caper berries are grown-up full-size capers, just like their mini cousins only more so. Love them. Only regret: they don't come in barrels. My shipment was magnificently and securely wrapped in snugly inflated pneumatic tubes.

Very Nice
My husband loves caperberries especially in his martinis. These he said have a very nice taste and have added a nice touch to these martinis. I'm sure if there are any left, I will use them in some culinary venue, but we'll have to see if that happens!

If you enjoy good olives the Caperberries should fit in perfectly.
They have a delicate flavour with a slight crunch, there are a few soft ones but overall they go with fine dining and I enjoy having them with cold smoked salmon.

Just bigger berries than I expected!
Absolutely nothing wrong with this order if you like giant capers!!! Probably my fault ... I didn't realize when you say caper "berries" they were the size of small grapes with the stems. They were good! But I do prefer them a tad smaller. Otherwise, fine purchase.

Perfect and what I expected
What I thought it would be returned out the same. Very good product. I used it on fresh mussels and it just gave a zing to it. Love it! I will order again.
