18 different modulations in 1 pedal!
I've now had this pedal for 3 days so i thought I'd share a review.. This is my 3rd JOYO pedal. I also have the Voodoo Octave and Compressor. All 3 pedals are built well and sturdy.. The R-09 has 18 different modulations. I bought the pedal because it has a couple mods that I don't currently have pedals for. I was interested in the rotary cabinet, the bit crusher and ring mod. I am really enjoying the sound the rotary adds when added to a tube screamer pedal. The bit crusher is fun because it can be used to make old school video games sounds. I've found the tri-chorus option to be useful too. It gives a different tone than the current chorus pedal I have. 9 of the mods are enabled by one button and the other 9 are enabled by the 2nd button. There are several different phaser options too. Using the speed, control and depth knows, its easy to dial in a vast range of phaser sounds. If you enable both buttons, There is a switch which lets you decide if you want to combine both mods or send A thru B. The only thing that I found that I didn't like about the pedal is that its kinda hard to read the names of the 18 modulations around the mod knows. Thats not a big deal though, I've almost got them all memorized already.

Tons of effects for the price, takes some tweaking to get right
I purchased this pedal in hopes of adding some modulation to my board which is overloaded with drives and reverbs, but no chorus, phase, or flange. I run my board into a Peavey Classic 30 tube amp split with a Boss Katana 50. The Katana has plenty of effects on board but I like the signal split into warm tube / cold solid state (running a JC120 emulator on the Katana) stereo effect.Previous reviews have mentioned it seems to be a jack of all, master of none scenario and I would not disagree with that, however the reviews that state the signal is dimmed, I have experienced the same thing with the EHX Memory Man in that the signal is completely taken over by the pedal. It took a lot of tweaking to find a happy medium with the effects as the knobs change function slightly with each effect.I had to spend a lot of time experimenting with my chain to find a good spot for it but once I did, I am happy with it, especially at the price, and wish I could give it 4.5 stars, shaving half a star because it was not a pedal I immediately loved, and some minor cons (see below). My board is about half budget, half not budget effects so I am not a pedal snob, I just look for pedals I can afford. My amps are budget mined as well.Pros:Endless variation via the parallel / slave switchTons of available effects combinationsBox is built like tankEffects that you could only make with a bunch of odd pedals or a multi-effects, like low bit into ring, having an effect like a grandfather clock in spaceBright and unique lighting on the pedal and an aesthetic upgrade from older Joyo pedalsStereo outputA ton of available effects for the priceCons:Non-intuitive function of the knobs (they change slightly depending on the effect, there are a few really thorough review videos available that cover each effect and knob function)Knob finish feels cheap like the chrome paint will chip off eventuallySignal split does not appear to be true stereo (flange does not seem to move from amp to amp) but the effect definitely changes in each amp adding depthNo presets, but this is minor as most stompboxes don't have a preset featurePotential manufacturing issues per other reviews, though I had noneTakes a lot of playing around to get a good sound locked in, for me and my gear at leastUses: A single box that gives you flange, tremolo, rotary (leslie), phase, ring mod, and tons of other effects for a really great price.I would recommend this pedal for a budget minded guitar player who would like access to these effects but don't want to shell out hundreds to get each effect individually, even if you bought the cheapest available on Amazon.Tips: experiment with signal chain order to find a good spot for it. I found it works best before my main echo and that allows the stereo swirls to be repeated and sound huge. Also, do not leave both outputs plugged in to the pedal if only running one signal / amp. Having both outputs engaged changes the way the effects output and in some effects adds lag, although this could become a creative choice for someone.

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!!! 5/5 Stars!
This pedal by far blew me away. I had known in the past, that Joyo pedals usually were made from plastic material and felt not as quality... But this pedal... It is made from a high quality metal frame, sturdy and response stomp buttons, and nice and shiny chrome knobs. You will easily spend 100 hours in this pedal, just exploring the different combination of two modulations you can have, it is very easy to get lost in the cool things this pedal can do...Now to get to the features...-Stereo LR in and outs.-Standard 9v power for easy compatibility with power supplies.-A-B or B-A modulation signal path selector switch. Awesome Feature!-FULL control of DUAL modulation signal.-Auto wah, chorus modulation, tremolo, rotary, ring, low bit rate, octaver, and so much more...There is an awesome LED light that surrounds the front and back side of the pedal, giving a nice blue hue letting you know if the pedal is active, or off. There is a button on the back to configure the light to be always on, synced to the pedal, or off always. I did not notice any fuzz or hiss or buzz in the audio from having the light on or off... VERY COOL!There are also some thingsMy ONLY draw for this would be, it did not have a 9v power adapter for the pedal. But honestly for the price, and how awesome this thing is, that does not even make a difference. PLUS most 9v adapters range from 10-15$ and most serious players will already have a multi-power supply of some kind. There is also a knob inside the pedal you can adjust for EVEN MORE customization but I will let you play with that and figure it out for yourself =].For the Price... 5/5Usability in a guitar rig: 5/5Construction: 5/5Ease of use: 5/5Packaging: 5/5 -very sturdy, well wrapped, and foam stuffing included to keep it nice and shiny, and free from dings caused in shipping!Joyo has stepped their game up from their previous lines of products. I would buy this pedal again, and recommend this to anyone who is interested in making awesome lo-bit/lo-fi sounds, for someone who wants a solution to having many different pedal types, in one smaller box! And for less then half the price of some of the competition!

Unbelievable
By FAR the coolest looking pedal on my pedal board! A ridiculous amount of high quality modulation effects (18) in one unit. Any two effects can be used in parallel or series. It has two foot switches to activate effects and both switches can be used as a tap tempo in both channels. Stereo inputs and outputs! The lights on this pedal are so cool! You turn them on or off and even set them modulate with the effect selected (super useful). Did I mention you get all of these features for 120$ ? It's ridiculous

Solid pedal with many mod effects to play with.
Pro: a great amount of effects in one unit. Can get a great Pink Floyd sound ;)The pedal functions well and the effect knobs have a HUGE sweep to the range, from very useable to the why is this a thing lmao. I have found that subtlety is more my style so have stayed for the most part on the left side of noon for the rate speed and controls knobs. The mix knob on each side is great to get a dry -wet signal and everything in between. A must for the octave.I havent found much by way of unusable effects (ring and lo fi maybe but I wouldn't know what to replace them with)Manual is pretty straightforward and makes the pedal pretty easy to figure out.Con: there a volume drops as others have stated in the modded phaser. It's compounded using another effect so it may be a hardware issue or could be just the nature of the effect I'm not sure I'm not an engineer ;)It'ss not enough to make me not use them but a live setting might need a boost of some sort. This is another welcome Joyo purchase for me. I'm super happy with these r-series pedals. The housings are just so unique to me. A side note on the housing tho...the colour is a lot more copper then it as in the pictures. At least to me but it is a nice colour. It plays well with the JOYO Uzi as well.Over all A- (volume drops are a thing) but happy with it!

Big Bang for your Buck!
This pedal is awesome!Even if I had to wait for it a little longer because of the Canadian Post being overwhelmed, I have been enjoying this pedal for the past few weeks. I took my time to write this review because I wanted to discover all the possibility of this pedal. I’m really satisfied with it and I will be able to make a lot of crazy sounds for in between songs and some intros we have. I think this completes my stereo rig... for now!

Low Quality Sounds in a high quality enclosure
Solid build, worked fine but the sounds were just poor quality. Lots of variety with the sound but not one of them sounded comparable to even an equivalent boss pedal. Good value for a ton of sounds, but not the nicest sounds you can get.
