Patio sliding door lock.
I searched for a long time and could not find an exact match to my original lock ( which broke after many, many years). I finally ran into this product and it appeared very similar in dimensions and mounting points. So I ordered it, and with some adjusting and finagling, it fit !! It functions almost the same ( a little harder to latch ), but near perfectly. The price was a little higher than I expected it to be, but its ok. I was just happy to have found it. The product appears well made and should last several years. Thank you Amazon, for carrying this product !!

The Faceplate is Shorter than the Lock
This is my 3rd attempt to replace mortise lock #ALI ADW-8 ASTM-2190-ARG. This is the closest so far, but it's still not quite right.First, the faceplate is very tiny, much shorter than the rest of the assembly, so it can't be secured to the door. The only thing holding it in place are the little bars that operate the latches. Those are wobbly, so this lock is wobbly, too. I tried installing washers behind the plate, but it's so short it just flipped the washers out of square and dropped them into the door. I also tried installing it with the old faceplate, but none of the holes line up.The next problem is that the anti-slam pin fits right into a hole in the keeper, so the only way to lock the door is to hold down the pin, turn the handle partway, then close the door. These latches are really snappy, so you have to be quick. So far, I've pinched my finger in the door twice. Gonna tape that thing down. The biggest issue, though, is that while the door latches extremely effectively, the door won't UNLOCK unless I lift the patio door panel out of its frame. I believe it's because the mortise is basically flopping around inside the door, so when I flip the handle, the pressure on the latches causes the whole mortise to wiggle instead of retracting the fingers.Overall, this lock gets very close to what I need, so I'll keep working on it. Hopefully I can find or make a faceplate that will fit. π€
