Won't work with platter, bus-powered HDDs, but otherwise, works just fine.
I have tested this with wired keyboard, an old 0.3M USB webcam, and a wireless Logitech keyboard+mouse combo (same unifying receiver). All get sufficient power. I tried a single external HDD (bus-powered, doesn't require separate power supply) and it failed to turn on. Guess some of the current sucked up by the repeater circuit was too much to sacrifice for the HDD. My USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 flash drives worked just fine and at same speed as if connected to a USB 2.0 port on my media PC (of course, no USB 3.0 speeds).A plus, I was worried the cable was stiff based on the shiny cable jacket, but the picture is misleading. The cable has a diffuse look to it, not quite shiny you can see spot lights reflected. This was an easier to work with material and I was comfortable routing the cable around tight sofa legs (about 2" round in diameter). I probably wouldn't push it with a sharp 90deg routing like tacking the cable along your baseboards or molding.

Didn't work for me.
I got 2 of these...When I first connected the cables both came up with a message indicating the connected USB device wasn't working properly. This was without anything plugged into the cables, so I figured this was a bad sign...I tried a number of different devices between a couple of different systems. The best I got was the cable worked for around 5 minutes, then cut out...Most commonly I got a sort of on and off with the device, with it working for around 10 seconds, cutting off for 10 sections, then back on...

Breaks easily
I bought 2 of these. Used one for about 2 months and after that, started receiving disconnections from the USB device every couple hours. Swapped out the cable for a new one of these and, again, it worked fine for about 2 months and then started receiving disconnections. I wasn't moving the cable around or twisting it to break it or anything -- they both just stopped working after a couple months.Fool me once: shame on you. Fool me twice: shame on me. Won't be purchasing any more of these.

Cable used for bird nest box camera - very pleased with results.
I bought this cable along with a Logitech C100 Webcam to set up inside a screech owl nest box that I attached to a tree in the back yard. The camera is now installed in the box and it is working well with no loss of frame rate or picture quality, and there is no interference with the audio.I waterproofed the female end of the cable that plugs in to the webcam's USB male connector and I'm using the full length of the cable to run it to my laptop, in the house. This cable is exactly what I was looking for and was inexpensive - very pleased with it.

Best way to extend USB 2.0 long distances.
Inexpensive and basic. Why do I need an extension? Instead of a long ethernet cable. To move the SDR, or GPS near the window. Or the wifi near the AP. This is basically a long-distance single port hub, so there are limits on stacking, but it just works. There are plain cables which are 10-15 feet, and they work, but I usually use them for charging. They probably will work for USB1.1, but I would worry about the speed of USB2.0. I don't have to worry using this extension.

works as expected... There a little latency when monitoring from a laptop but that has no impact on the actual video quality.
