OPC pH & Alkalinity Reducer 1.5 Kg

It's my first year having a pool in the garden.I'm very new to pool care so had to do a lot of research online.I've started testing the water few days after setting the pool up last month, I bought some chlorine tablets that came with testing strips.After following the instructions to test the pool water, I realised that the pH and Alkalinity levels were very high.I bought this product to help reduce it and it seems to have helped with the Alkalinity level as I've retested earlier today and it showed "OK" on the strip.The only thing I wasn't sure about at first was, this product seems to be more intended to hot tubs or jaccuzis.In the instructions they say to put the product while the circulation is on. I guess to mix the product well with the water.As I've only got a standard pool with no circulation or pump, I've messaged support see if the product would still work well and they've just copy/pasted the instructions without really answering my question which was a bit disappointing.I had to put more product than suggested and stirred the water with the leaf net a bit. That's how I got the best results, if that can be of any help to anyone in the same situation.
