Replaced dying HID lights in a 2001 Acura TL
My low beam lights would turn on but when the temperature was in the 30s or below or if it was raining, the driver side bulb would turn off after a few minutes but the passenger low beam light would stay on. Flicking my lights off and then back on would temporarily fix the issue at first but over time no longer worked. The HID bulbs were only a year old, and after some reading online I figured the OEM ballast was going bad and possibly the igniter too (both are prone to moisture damage). Rather than buying a used OEM ballast (which would likely eventually have the same issues), or a taking a gamble on a new aftermarket HID kit (ballast, igniter, HID bulb), I decided to upgrade my low beam bulbs to these LEDs (D2Rs).Obviously every car is different and I am not liable for any damages or injuries so read below at your own discretion! This is how I installed these LED bulbs:Taking off the bumper and putting together the headlight assembly: I took off my front bumper (found a YouTube video on this, most Japanese cars are like this to access both low beam bulbs), I then unbolted both of my headlight assemblies and then unplugged all the connections and brought the assemblies inside. I twisted and removed the protective cap to get to the HID bulb, and I unclipped, unscrewed, and removed the igniter, ballast, and HID bulb from the headlight assembly. I safely and appropriately discarded these items since the LED bulbs did not need them. There was a rubber grommet with two tiny holes where the original wires went through coming out of the headlight assembly. I removed this grommet by pulling it towards the inside of the headlight assembly. Wearing the anti-static gloves that came with the bulbs, I put the new LED bulb into the headlight assembly in the same direction and manner as the HID bulb, and secured the bulb using the wire clip that was part of my headlight assembly, and I made sure the LED bulb was fixed tightly to the circular fitting that came with it. The LED bulb also has a small "box" attached to it; I put this tiny box in the headlight assembly as well and zip tied it in place using the provided zip ties so it would not move around. I then pulled the new LED bulb wires through the hole where the grommet once was (I did not put the grommet back in since it had two tiny holes for wires, and this LED bulb has the two wires bound together until the connector pins). I first made sure the protective cap would clear the LED bulb (which has a fan on the bottom) and then I put the protective cap back on the headlight assembly to cover the bulb. I read online some folks do not put the cap back on and just put some duct tape over the whole either because the original cap won't clear the LED bulb or to allow better ventilation for the LED bulb, but I figured since I removed the rubber grommet where the wires ran out of the headlight assembly, there would be enough air flow and minimal over heating, all while keeping the moisture out. Since I had to take off the bumper and had access to my other bulbs (day time lights and high beams), I decided to replace these as well (I just used regular halogen bulbs since these were not HID bulbs for my car).Plugging in the bulbs: I did not know what the power supply clip looked like which originally plugged into the ballast, so I ordered these LED bulbs because they a positive and negative pin (rather than a clip/plug like other LED bulbs I saw on amazon). I figured these were more "universal". I stuck the red and black wire pins directly into the power supply plug making sure to stick them in the correct holes. I then wrapped the connection very well with a ton of electrical tape, covering the power supply clip and the pins of the LED bulb wire so nothing was exposed. I was going to also use a heat shrink wrap or some sort of tubing but just ended up using a good amount of tightly wrapped electrical tape. I plugged in the day time bulb and high beam bulb. I tested the lights to make sure they worked and then I bolted the headlight assemblies back into place and re-installed my bumper.Overall:These LED bulbs are great, and provide the same amount of light as my HID bulbs did. I made sure to install them in the same direction as my HID bulbs were and I get the same beam pattern. Unless I put my ear to the headlight when they are turned on, I cannot hear the LED bulb fans. Currently I have had about 3 hours of run time with these LED bulbs (over an hour with one driving session) and have not had any issues, but will update over time. Hopefully they last longer than my car! And if there are any issues in the future, at least I know it will likely just be the bulb, and I don't have to worry about trouble shooting any other parts (like a ballast, igniter, etc.).

Plug didn't fit and build was not like as seen in the picture
Basically it did not work because the product I received was not as the one advertised. I bought it refurbished thinking I was gonna get a good deal but seems like it ended me up with the wrong bulb which does not fitUpdate: returned and bought another and they sent me the right one this time. I hooked it up and its bright but not as bright as I was expecting. It's a little brighter than the factory HID's but it also doesn't shine as evenly as the HID's. I guess my HID's weren't too bad after all. These also seem to get hot really fast. I let it on a plastic part of my car when I first plugged them in to test and within a minute it already got so hot I saw steam and plastic melting because I panic and quickly shut it off. So you should make sure it's secured properly because if it falls out and the heatsink touches something you have the high possibility of melting wiring. The fan seems to always spin when the light is on but the noise really isn't noticeable unless you put your ear right next to it and even though the fan was spinning it still didn't cool it down much as this LED gets HOT.

VERY HAPPY
I did a lot of research for affordable, quality, and bright D3S D3R Led Bulbs on Dr. Google. These bulbs checked all boxes on multiple sites, so I bought them. They are bright and I can see so much better at night now. I installed these on my 2017 Mustang GT, which is not a simple job, so making the right decision on the bulbs I purchased was important. These are true 6000k bulbs. They are bright, made well. This is my new go to brand for headlight and fog light bulbs. I will add a picture or video later. I should have taken a before/after picture, but too late for that.If you’re researching LED bulbs, these are great.

Instructions with pictures.
I researched 55watt HID kits and LEDs like these. All I gathered was HID dealers prefer HIDs and LED dealers prefer LEDs. There is no unanimous declaration one is better. So, Having bought LEDs before I decided to go with these. Here’s how I did itStep 1: Remove headlight assembly from car and remove ballast on bottom of headlight assembly. Disconnect inlet(two black) wires and outlet(big mesh wrapped wires).Step 2: Pull rubber plug from back of assembly and turn bulb counter clockwise to pull free. Bulb may be hot if you just had them on. Remove bulb with mesh wrapped wires(you no longer need them)Step3: Install new bulb with provided gloves by turning bulb clockwise to “lock it in”. My car needed a circular hub that holds bulb in place, if yours has this simply transfer it to new bulb. And “lock it in”.Step 4: Find positive or 12v side of inlet plug that you took off of your ballast. You must insert red wire terminal into that side of plug and the black goes into the negative. *BULBS ARE POLARITY SENSITIVE*Step 5: Wrap positive(red) wire with electrical tape to keep the two wires from touching then wrap both wires and plug with electrical tape.Step6: Test them out before proceeding. If they don’t light up, switch the wires in the inlet plug.Step7: Secure wiring from light with box inside headlight assembly. Make sure small fan on back of light can spin freely.Step8: Reinstall rubber cap but leave ballast off, this will allow air to circulate to cool bulb. Reinstall assembly. At night there is now a clear defining line where my projection lenses limit low beam. My HIDs were not bright enough to do this. These LEDs are clear winners in my book.

LOW LIGHT!!!!!
Very disappointed in performance. Light very weak and only covers mid of the road with distance of about 20 meters. Very bright and nice looking when in front of the car. But driving in a dark, with no street light feel like an oil lantern!!! Light dissipates as I said at around 20 m (60ft) and only in the middle of the road. No cover outside the middle of road.Cannot recommend. Will have to go for another set by different manufacturer. Money not spent well.

the hours of life is not up to what is stated.
easy to install if you have any skills. I got about 17,000 hrs on the fixture if I had left my lights on 24 hours a day. so take it from there.

Much brighter then your regular OEM HID's
MODEL - D2R , Car installed 2010 Subaru Forester XTWanted to make the switch to LED Technology from HID as i found the OEM HID's were expensive when compared to the LED's. These in my opinion are much brighter & have a better beam pattern & illuminate the road much better at night when compared to OEM Philips D2R or Osram.I am yet to try them in the rain/snow/fog condition. These come with universal pins and you will need to bypass your oem ballast and plug them into the regular 12v factory harness that used to connect to the HID Ballast. I did not want to splice any wires so i just removed the plug and connected directly & used heat-shrink. To install the bulbs you will need to take the socket out install the retaining clips then install the led body. OEM Dust covers work as they are low profile & the fan part does not block it from closing.Depending on your model of car , you may or may not need to take the front bumper off & take the headlight assembly out for a good install.Need to see how long they last , will update the review later on the longevity of the bulbs
