Cheap where it can be, strong where it should be
The metal stamping is plain shoddy but it really doesnt matter at all. Its probably made of pot steel but it really doesnt matter. This thing is not mesnt to keep out the feds, its meant to give you a bit of privacy in your bedroom that doesnt lock, or give you some extra time to prepare a weapon should someone try to break in, and it does exactly that.My bedroom door does not lock. But now im confident that i can sleep with no threat. I would hear an intruder long before they break in.

Great inexpensive product for peace of mind!
This product is really good! My dad and I tested it out without any doors locked just using this product and he couldn’t make it budge. To finally get it to budge you would be almost breaking the door down which would make a lot of noise! Good product for price!

Did not work!
It supposed to stop a potential intruder from opening the door but, unfortunately, that was not the case. We installed this lock at a door but forgot to let our roommate know. It took him only a couple minutes and several pushes to bend this lock and opened the door from the outside. My conclusion, this device will NOT protect you from opening the door but the best they can do it giving you a couple more minutes to respond. See the attached picture, this is what the lock looks like just after several strong pushes from the outside

Great for hotel doors and feeling of security
The media could not be loaded. This door lock works great. We are planning some summer vacations and I always hate staying in hotes knowing a cleaning person or staff can come in at any moment. With this lock, I feel more secure becuse it is extra protection. The lock is easy to use as well.

Stars need to align for it to work
The concept of this is a good one if it ever works. My experience is that in residential (bedrooms) it seemed to work, but only if everything is aligned correctly (hole, door jamb etc...)Now the problem I had with commercial buildings such as hotels and such were that it didn’t always fit due to the thickness of the hotel doors & frames... there was just no way to close it & with all the electronic key codes hotel locks, the opening latch didn’t even fit into this device’s cut out hole.The cut out hole is precisely cut to fit standard American resident door latches...So, with that said. I wish I would have seen a review like this before donating $$ for a product I can’t even use.

Color me impressed
This thing blows my mind. It's so small and yet a grown man can't break into a door if this thing is holding it shut. I'm very security-conscious and was looking for a quick fix after my chain swing lock broke on my back door. It serves not as a back up lock, but as the only lock on my back door. I had a friend throw his whole body weight at the door when I installed it and it didn't budge at all. It's worth noting how cheap it is in comparison with replacing the door handle.

Don’t Leave Home Without It
Love this thing for 3 main reasons:1. Very portable.2. Works well.3. Provides an extra measure of security while traveling.The only (very) minor downsides are that it could be a little challenging to figure out the first time, and it can be slightly awkward to carry around (two separate parts don’t click together for transport). Otherwise, when we have stayed in rooms in Airbnb’s that don’t have a lock, this little device has greatly increased our comfort level while sleeping at night.

Great for added security when traveling overseas!!
I purchased this door lock for added security during a recent trip to Ecuador. It worked really well, especially after the first night when a hotel employee came into our room after 9 pm only speaking Spanish, and we had no idea what she was saying. After she left I placed the lock on the door and we had no more interruptions. Once properly installed the door wouldn’t budge any. Highly recommend for any trip, in country or overseas.
