Really interesting recopies. Definitely a number that I'd cook at home or if I had an RV. While I enjoy cooking and reading the recipes, for pure tent camping, they're a bit too involved for my tastes. I really don't want to spend a lot of time prepping things in multiple bags, storing them in a cooler, and and then go through a multi step process to cook. If you want to go all out - these would be great recipes.

Recipes are not realistic to cook over a campfire and seem to involve a ton of prep work.

"Simple Recipes" these may be relative to a gourmet cookbook, but the amount of effort required to plan for, shop for, pack for, prepare for, and clean up after these endeavors means that the one doing the planning, shopping, packing, preparing, and cleaning up is hardly going to have a relaxing outdoor excursion or vacation. I am left with the impression that the author wants to market an idea she fantasizes about rather than one that she actually executes in real life.On a positive note - the photography is lovely. The photos do make one romanticize a feast under the stars or by the riverbank.

What a wonderful cookbook! Simple ideas that come to life with Emma’s passion and excitement for delicious food prepared and eaten in nature. The pictures are amazing! Loved the helpful tips on how to prepare and making homemade condiments, dips, spreads and marinades. Making things special is in the details. Great for “glampers” who are looking to take their firecooked feasts up a notch or two.

Gift for foodies who have a camper and spend a lot of time on the camp ground. Recipient says she loves it - recipes she never would have thought to find in a camping recipe book. Gave this a long with ingredients for the Fools bourbon drink.

This book is going to be in heavy rotation in my cookbook lineup. I've been cooking since I was a kid and already in the first recipe I tried, I learnt something I didn't know. Turns out that I don't need to peel organic carrots, who knew. The book arrived on a Thursday night, and two days later I've already made our first meal "Welcome to the garden Thai Curry" - so good my husband and I both had two huge helpings. The recipes are easy to follow, the notes are thoughtful, and the images make you want to pack a cooler bag with ingredients and head to the woods. My only regret is not getting a picture of our meal before it was gone!

This book will make you want to pack a cooler, find a good camping spot, bring some friends, and cook a great meal outside! Emma does a great job of picking interesting, tasty recipes that can be done easily outside/on a camping trip. The recipes are easy to follow and most have a section for doing some prep work before, so then when you get outside its much easier! The stories and photos that go along with the recipes are delightful to read and inspiring!I made the zesty za'atar spice and fried an egg in it and mixed it into yogurt with gyro meat ... so good!! Can't wait to make more recipes from here and go camping this summer!

This book is a must-have for anyone planning a weekend camping trip, a day hike, or an afternoon picnic in their backyard. It is chock full of incredibly thoughtful tips & tricks for preparing and packing supplies and ingredients and jam-packed with easy to follow, mouth-watering recipes! I especially love how throughout the book are sensitive reminders and suggestions for how to leave no trace and be respectful of the natural land while still enjoying it to the fullest. Emma's passion for the outdoors, superior meals, and memorable shared experiences explode from every single page. I can't wait to get cooking!
