SUPER STRONG.. BEST PRODUCT I'VE FOUND SO FAR
I have a 75 lb bulldog/lab mix. She is not a huge dog, but she is very powerful. She has broken more tie out cables, leashes and harness than I can count... until I found this one. This is my second one. I had teh first one about 10 months and its still in fairly good condition. It was starting to show some wear and tear because my dog like to jump over my cement patio wall, walk on it, and just run around. After time the cable rubbing against the bick will cause some fraying and I was getting poked when I woudl bring her in. Still this is the BEST product out there. Other brands only lasted 3-4 weeks before I had to replace them. This one lasted 10 month outside in the rain, heat and snow. I have not noticed any rusting that other people mentioned. It was perfect for my girl Luca.

Strong, Sturdy, and Well Made
After my 120 lb Komondor snapped her lead and nearly got hit by a car I wanted to invest in something that was as close to invincible I could find for our girl. This is that. It isn’t too heavy or cumbersome but the quality & craftsmanship is legit. Great purchase!

Great dog cable, LOUSY clips!
This ultra-heavy-duty dog cable is rated to contain dogs up to 250 pounds, and I believe it. While my two Great Danes are only 150 pounds and not prone to yanking on their tie-out line, I did not like the user reviews on the next cable down (rated at 125 pounds) and wanted a cable rated to at least their weight. The cable is lighter than I guessed from the picture and should be no problem for any 100+ pound dog to carry around. The casing is smooth and slippery and so far has refused to catch and tangle where the prior, aging cable did. The cable swagings and fittings are impressively heavy-duty and I have no concerns about the end used to anchor the cable to a porch post. However, the massive clips are one of the worst-designed pieces of hardware I've ever seen. They latch inwards and have to be pulled outwards to open. You cannot simply swipe-click them onto a collar ring; you have to hold the latch open manually and clip it on. This proved impossible to do with one hand, although I suppose strong and agile enough fingers, some practice, and a completely patient dog would allow it. Two hands are also needed to unlatch and remove the clip. The clip is extremely heavy, more than six ounces, and I think even a very large dog would get tired of it pulling at their collar. Worst of all, though, by twisting a collar ring just right, it can catch on the base of the latch and cause it to pull open. I have no trouble seeing an active or "tricky" dog learning that enough rolling around will set them free. Really, these clips are so bad for this purpose in every respect I can't imagine why the manufacturer is using them. There is a solution, though. I used a hacksaw to cut through the pivot pin on one clip, and replaced it with a lighter-duty but much more easily managed and secure clip. Your hardware store should have a selection of clips of any size suitable for your dog and preferences, and with this replacement, this cable, at Amazon prices, is an excellent and trustworthy solution for big dogs.

Solid tie out out, but durable??
Nice thick cable, solid heavy duty clasps, but why use material that rusts as the pin to hold the clasp? We have had the cable for less than 6 mths and Im not sure the clasp pin will last longer than 1-2 years. The cable/clasp could pull a truck and hold any size dog or horse! So why use material that could rust/break and make the whole thing useless? Will update if/when it breaks.

Strong enough for my monster dog
I have a 100+ pound Pitt/boxer mix that is incredibly strong and dog and cat reactive. I don’t have a fenced in yard (live in a duplex), so having a tether I can trust is imperative. This is the second one I bought. The first one lasted over 3 years and was still working, but saw some fraying on the plastic, so bought a new one just to be safe. It’s working great.

Holds my Pit easily.
Huge, heavy cable with massive clips on each end. I use it on a 70 lb pit bull that has no idea how strong he is. He broke many smaller lesser made cables but this one holds him easily. This one was a replacement for another one I bought that lasted a little over a year being in the grass 24/7/365. The cable finally rusted thru enough that it broke at one of the clips. Your results may vary.

We keep having to buy new ones.
I have a lab mix of 70-75 pounds of 13 yr old muscle that likes to pull when seeing deer, etc. We live on a lot of property and he is a chaser. Non the less everyone of these we have bought has busted at the clip or the pin goes out, won’t stay closed or the end totally comes out of the cable where it attaches. Last 2 bought was March 2022 and they are both (were) on the sinker metal rods in the yard The top part stays on the covered porches x2 when he isn’t on it and both rusted already. One snapped off again last night. 5 hours of hunting down the dog again. Not happy. They should last longer then this. I may ask for a refund this time or start looking for another product. They have been eating upMoney $80-$120 each time to buy3 total .
