I can't go back to instant coffee!
First off, I just want to say how mind-blowing the difference was between instant and ground coffee! It's not even a comparison. Hands down; ground coffee is just superior! Anyways, this product was a good introduction for me for drinking ground coffee for the following reasons:Update: if you drink a lot of coffee, then I suggest getting the bigger versionPros:It's pretty! Very stylish. I love how pout was designed to guide the coffee as I pour it on my cup.The wooden sleeve is a nice touch. It helps you from scalding your hand when pouring.I have not seen or drank any of the fine grounds that I used to make my coffee.Don't have to spend on filters. The filter on this is reusable and can be cleaned.Cleaning the filter is not too bad. Tapping it usually gets 50% of the used coffee out for me. But if you had to scoop and scrape (like I do), make sure NOT to use a pointed edge (I used chopsticks on mine). When you are scraping against the sides, do not go against the overlap and try not to touch the middle-bottom filter.Cons:Making coffee with this does take time. Not a lot of time but enough that you cannot pour a lot of hot water into the funnel too quickly because it would overflow. You also need to pour your hot water in a circular motion starting from the center.Wash by hands***Do NOT under any circumstances put this in a dishwasher!!! While mine still works, the filter inside did not look as pretty when I first opened it.TL;DR: It's a good coffee maker that does not need any third-party filters

Nice Set up
I've been interested in pour over type coffee for a while now. I've been looking at the Chemex and the V60 Hario I think. This one is less expensive and appears to do the same thing. It does make outstanding coffee. Takes a little getting used to and your supposed to be consistent with the amount of coffee and water you use, even how you pour. The first time I used it, the leather tie broke. No big deal, but I thought it would last a little while at least. As previously mentioned, This does take a little bit of time to prepare and brew. It wouldn't be good if you just got up and have to go to work, so don't throw out the Mr. Coffee just yet. The extra effort is worth it in my opinion. It would even be worth it to allow extra time in the morning to do it. The biggest con for me is cleaning out the spent coffee grounds from the narrow metal cone filter. I clean out what I can. The cone is a real pita. I use a chop stick to get out the majority of it, and rinse the rest down the drain. I really don't like doing that. If there's a better a way, I'd love to hear it. I've read that the paper filters absorb a lot of the oils in the coffee affecting the flavor. I'm not sure how much flavor you'd lose, but it seems like a paper filter would really make life easier.

THIS IS THE PERFECT COFFEE POT!
This is a great nontoxic coffee maker. I finally moved on from my Mr Coffee pot which was not Bpa free. This is glass with a stainless filter and wood handle. No plastic, aluminum, or paper filters. I finally figured out the proper amount of coffee and water: I used the same amount of water (measured by measuring cup-5 1/4 C) and coffee (7 coffee scoops-- organic coffee!) as in the mr coffee. Also, the filter for this pot is beautifully designed.I need my coffee first thing in the morning, so I make a full pot the night before. The process does take a few minutes, but there's no rush. It's become pleasant ritual. A silicone brush with a long handle makes clean up a breeze. The only thing missing was a lid-- but I found one! Amazon sells a silicone sealing lid (bpa free). The 6" works great for the 28 oz pot. There is also a 4" which might work for smaller pots. This is a great product! Love it!

Easy to use, even easier to bruise...
I really liked this coffee maker. I was really excited when I received it because I'm fairly new to making coffee and this was my first time buying my own coffee maker. It looks really great, easy to use but feels a bit thin. The filter does an awesome job, you get no grinds or sediment in your coffee. And the pot has little measurement markers on the side to let you know how much your making (max 3 cups). It gets really hot so be careful touching it after adding hot water. Also you have to be extremely mindful when washing it. It's not something you want to leave in the sink or pile other dishes on because it feels like it will break as soon as it makes contact with anything solid, which I learned for sure after owning it for only a month. I was reaching for my phone charger and the cord knocked the coffee pot on to its side and it cracked completely in half.. smh I'm was so mad because I've only used it a few times and now I have to throw it away. I will buy this style of coffee maker again but I'll probably try a different brand in hopes of finding one with stronger glass. But I still think this is a good purchase if you know to be extra extra careful.

Great Product!
I purchased this particular brand due to being much lower in price than Chemex, etc. Trying to get away from all the plastic that is inevitable when using a drip coffee brewer... This works just as well as higher-priced ones, brews great coffee, and doesn't take long to get accustomed to using. After water boils, I let cool for 2 minutes, then slowly pour over the grounds until filter is full (don't fill filter more than 50% with grounds). I then slowly continue pouring as the water level goes down. It's smaller, but can easily yield 2-good-sized cups. Strong coffee, that still contains all of the essential oils that usually get soaked up by paper filters. Easy to clean, just hot water and a little dish soap. Love it; Thanks for providing a great product, at a great price!
