Perfect for the NVIDIA Shield TV box as well!
I needed an air mouse/keyboard remote for my NVIDIA Shield TV box. The MINIX A2 Lite was perfect! While designed for Minix Android TV Boxes it works well with the Shield. It is an air mouse with Qwerty keyboard on the back. The button for the mouse toggles on/off so you do not have to hold it. The mouse is very responsive on screen and mouse speed varies by how fast you gesture making it quite precise. The return key works as the left mouse button. In KODI you can press the "C" key on the keyboard for right mouse click. It is easy enough to do one-handed.On the front of the remote most of the keys are functional for the Shield. The directional pad is identical. The Home button turns on the Shield from sleep mode, not the power button. There is pause/play, reverse, forward, audio up and down, mute and back. The function of the back button in KODI depends on the KODI section or app. In general, it returns to the Main KODI screen. The keyboard on the back is almost a full QWERTY keyboard. Several special characters are missing including:\ | [ \ { } < > _The Caps Lock and Function key are toggle on/off. The function key selects numbers and special characters as well as page up, page down and change mouse axis 90 degrees. The latter is useful if you want to use it two handed as a 6-axis game controller.I use this remote primarily for KODI. Along with the air mouse capability KODI responds to most of the shortcut key codes (see [...]). It is easy to flip the remote over and back one-handed to press special key codes. For entering URL's or search parameters the two-handed, two-thumb approach works best.

It MOSTLY works fine, but the biggest issues has been the fact ...
I've never written a review before but I am so frustrated with this remote. It MOSTLY works fine, but the biggest issues has been the fact that some of the buttons require a very very firm press. You have to press a couple buttons unacceptably hard to get them to register. And what's worse is that these problematic buttons are the ones you use most: back, air mouse, left, right, and center enter button. So today, I tried recalibrating (FN + Y) and now none of the buttons work at all other than the air mouse button. I give up on this remote and do not recommend it to anyone. I love my MINIX box, just not their remotes…. Oh, and the M1 remote that came with my MINIX box never worked. I tried everything. Look for alternatives.

but the A2 is very good. I use it with a MINIX H8
I was a little concerned about this purchase because I had previously bought a cheaper remote that did not work very well, but the A2 is very good. I use it with a MINIX H8, and it works seamlessly. All the buttons work just as you'd expect out of the box. The gyroscope function seems to work perfectly too. It's very easy to point the mouse at anything on the screen and click it. The keyboard is big and easy to use too, though I'll agree with other posters that a backlight would be a nice feature. And this is a netflix issue, NOT a remote issue by why the heck doesn't netflix natively understand the play/pause button on any of these remotes? Anyway, I think the remote is well worth the price, but note that this is the model that does not have the microphone in the handset for skype.

No useless number pad taking up front real-estate
Very solidly built and clicky. No useless number pad taking up front real-estate. Excellent for HTPC. Power function is IR. Other stuff is RF. Keyboard shows up as standard HID keyboard. Other buttons have unique HID codes that can be made to do things with EventGhost. Using on Win7 Pro with a generic WMC IR receiver. Air-Mouse function is useful in a pinch.

Works wells with Android box, good air-mouse, and the keyboard is convenient.
- It's a little larger than I expected, pretty close to CATV remote sized. - Power and App Switcher buttons, as expected, do not work with my non-Minix box - The fast forward buttons work in almost no apps (they function as next/previous chapter buttons in Kodi, no response in other apps I have tried) - Weird quirk: on the Matricom G-Box Q, the remote back button does not get you out of an actively playing video in either Showbox or DroidTV (the back button of my original IR remote and the back button of my Minix M1 remote will do this), so if I use these two particular apps teh only way to get out of a video is to use the Home button, or use a different remote; the back button does what I expect everywhere else

Simply the best air mouse I have used
Simply the best air mouse I have used. Mouse is responsive (no lag) and easy to operate. Keyboard works great. No sticking keys or repetitive characters. The same size as most tv remotes. Others I've tried are too small and not an ergonomic fit for your hand.I own 3 other brands with 4 to 5 star ratings and Minix A2 Lite is the winner. I use the Minix with my Android mini PC's. I just ordered my 2nd Minix A2. If you dont know the Minix name, you will soon. They're an up and coming tech company with a great reputation in the tech community.

Good and bad
It's a pretty good remote, comfortable in the hand, keyboard buttons are big enough to easily use. Found key workarounds for everything except the real downer: You can't turn the media box off or on with it unless you have a minix box. Because of that, I give it 3 stars.

Don't buy if you have Kodi. Would be great for other uses.
Giving 4 stars, even though I returned it. I liked it, but didn't suit my needs.Pros:-great quality and feel in the hand-easy to setup and useCons:-not great for htpc(which was my intent). airmouse is not even usable it's so bad. no 'up level' button, no customizable buttons.Thoughts:-honestly if this had a 'back' button, or go up a level folder structure wise button, i would have kept it. not easy to navigate in kodi/xbmc software at all. would not recommend if using kodi.
