Galileo Liquid Thermometer Galileo Was an Italian Physicist, Mathematician, Engineer, Astronomer and Philosopher who founded Modern Physics and invented the Thermoscope. Based on law of physics, specific gravity of liquids change as they expand at different temperatures. Thermometer is a Sealed Tube made of Glass Contains 4 Floating Glass Spheres filled with colored liquid 4 Metal tags (calibrated counterweights) attached to Bubbles that tell the Temperature Stands Approximately 9.5" Tall (24cm) Measuring Temp ranges from 60.8°F-82.4°F (16°C-28°C) This Thermometer works on the principle of Buoyancy. The individual floats rise or fall in proportion to their respective density as the temperature changes. So How do I tell the Temperature? The bubble that sinks the most indicates the approximate current temperature. Great Conversation piece! Perfect to accessorize your Desk, Dorm, Classroom, Bedroom or Office. Makes a Great Gift Condition: New Keep out of direct sunlight Note: Buyer will receive (1) Galileo Thermometer, per quantity of (1) purchased.

CELSIUS ONLY
It only shows degrees in Celsius. That definitely is important to know before buying. Looks great though!

Got What I Paid For...
The colors are beautiful, more vibrant then other Galileo Thermometers I've seen but the temperature balls hang on a slant within the cylinder appearing as if there is something off with the liquid distribution. The tags also look a little cheap, the numbers aren't etched as clearly as I would have hoped. This may also have been something I overlooked in the description but the temperature is gauged in celsius not farenheight. I did purchase this more for the aesthetics but being easily functional would have been a plus too. This is also one of the cheaper options I found so as the old saying goes "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"
