One of the greats, SLADE
Absolutely love this box set! That big red box is so SLADE! The four albums included are all 5 star classics in my book. For those of us who "got" Slade, this box set is a must. You get the four albums: Slade Alive, Slayed, Slade in Flame and Old New Borrowed and Blue. You also get a paperback book about Slade and a very kidlike "picture book". And, you also get four singles (45's) that total eight great songs that were released at the height of their popularity in England. In addition there is a two disc CD that includes the material from those four vinyl records noted above. I've been to hundreds of shows in my lifetime, some I remember well, others that seem like a distant dream. Slade is one of those bands that I will always remember; they were loud, they were fun, and that damn Noddy Holder sang like no other. Fantastic!

Love It! Love It ! Love It!
This is an example of how a collectable box set should be. Quality of the vinyl is first rate and quiet. It's a treasure for long time like myself. I've loved Slade since I was 12 YO and now 56 YO and still believe it was some of the greatest pop/rock evert produced. The detail on the sleeves is absolutely beautiful and high quality. The books are a great addition and add to the great job done in putting together this package. Even though I already everything that is on this box set I highly recommend this package for Slade devotees.

Awesome collection of classic Slade glam!
Great quality pressings and packaging. At least one of my 7” arrived slightly warped but not enough for me to want to roll the dice again.

BA HUM BUG XMAS SEASON BLOWS BUT THIS BOX SET WILL BLOW ANY REAL OLD TIME ROCKER AWAY!!!!!!!!!!
this is the ultimate box set out at this time for any slade fan!!!!!!!, first and for most the only thing i never got with slade was they released a merry xmas single 40 years back and there reissues the past 25+ years get so associated with xmas i dont get that part of slade but as a yank i got everything else regarding this amazing band from the uk ive been a fan of now since 1981 when i discovered them with the SLAYED lp from 1973 in an import bin and i went back from there and was hooked as hell, i am getting old now but im not old enough to have seen slade in the 70s which was the time to see this awesome uk hard rock glam act in there prime!!!!!! i still love there first lp as much as the slayed 73 lp but that is another story but the 1970 blaster get down get with it is just as much a speaker blower today as it was 45 years ago, slade for whatever reason suffered the same fate in the us as other killer uk rock acts like UFO, THE SWEET, THIN LIZZY, BUDGIE and STATUS QUO slade did very well in the uk and europe but just never cracked the us or canada for whatever reason, one bit of trivia is when KISS opened for slade in 1975 some of those live recordings on kiss alive one where from a tour kiss did in 1975 OPENING UP FOR SLADE, when kiss alive came out by late 1975 THEN KISS TOOK OVER THE WORLD!!! but very shortly before that it was kiss opening for slade in 1975 as i know quite a few older fans that saw the tour and some remember it and to some its a haze for obvious reasons but the facts are all there, slade only toured the us a few times in the 70s and relized it was not going far enough so they focused on the uk and europe for the most part, slade would try one more us comeback in 1983 with the keep your hands off my power supply record but even with mtv and all that on board as well as huge hits like my oh my and run run away it did not crack what they wished and if my memory serves well they never came back again after 1984 when they did mid west us dates with ozzy as openers, anyway sadly in my almost 4 decades of being a rock fan I HAVE NEVER SEEN SLADE LIVE sadly, anyway i hate x mas but love slade so this wonderful box set was a big gift from me to me, ok THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST ERA FOR SLADE however i do not know why this box set has to start in 1971 and not 1970 with AMBROSE SLADE as that damn record was as good as any in this box, also sadly no SLADE DID NOT RULE THE WORLD FROM 71 TO 75 maybe the who, led zeppelin or deep purple did but not slade, anyway this is one hell of a beautiful package here with a very important era showcased in this box, you get the 4 lps from SLAYED LIVE 1972 THROUGH THE FLAME 1975, these are all pressed on beautiful color 180 g vinyl, the lps sleeves replicate the originals ( i have had those to for over 30 years now) and you get a very hard sturdy box, filled with a wonderful replica of a book that came out in the uk in 1975, 4 replica uk singles that where just plain killer, a 2 cd best of set that covers the 4 records in this box as well as a couple of other goodies, i got this a couple of days ago from amazon uk so it was a tad cheaper that way, this music sounds as fresh now as when i first heard it and some of the best ever slade songs are here like MY FRIEND STAN, BANGING MAN AND HOW DOES IT FEEL as well as basically ALMOST ALL THE OTHERS this was at a time when slade really did not have many wasteful fillers on the records every song was that damn good, this band where very very powerful for a so called glam rock band from the uk at this time, slade for example in 1972 or 73 would have even blown T REX OFF THE STAGE and by 1976 when kiss where on top of the world knowing them THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO LET SLADE OPEN FOR THEM, slade had so so so much power for there time, if you are a die hard slade fan YOU MUST GET THIS BOX SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you are a big slade fan of the early to mid 70s 40 + years ago i highly reccomend investing in this as i know it is an expensive set but WOW!!! when i read about this in classic rock magazine 2 weeks ago i came right home and ordered my copy for the best price i could, once again i honestly love everything slade did from 1970 to 1983 after that they just got aweful until noddy packed it in around 1992, one very over looked slade record was the 1977 semi classic WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO SLADE?? when they shaved there heads as a mimick to the then london punk explosion as that record came out in the uk on a label called barn wich was owned by a great uk punk band called the depressions, if you are a fan of that record drop me a line ha ha as i think im the only one in the world who likes it, anyway this is a great box set for a slade die hard for xmas if that is what you are into as i said before, i look foward to a box like this in the future that covers 1977 to 1982 per say as live onstage in 1982 is as powerful as slayed live from 1972, anyway to hell with xmas BA HUM BUG but slade are/ still where one of the the best heaviest uk exports of the 1970s and if once again you where that into slade during this era well then this is a beautiful box set to treat yourself to ( to hell with everyone else) and to hell with xmas to, LONG LIVE SLADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps dont count out the albums well bring the house down and play it loud noddy was and sadly is a very over looked ultimate frontman!!

Reedition with little content for the abusive price, unworthy
I SINCERELY DID NOT THINK A LOT OF THING THIS BOX, BECAUSE IT BRINGS ONLY 2 CDS AND 4 LPS AND THE SINGLES ARE SIMPLE AND NOT COLORFUL, THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS ABSURD PRICEI DISAPPOINTED WITH THE FLEXI DISC WHICH CAME, SINCE I CAME WITH A HOLE IN THE GROUND OF THE DISC,THE DISCS HAVE THE AUDIO GOOD, BUT THE PRICE SHOULD BRING THE FIRST DISCS ON, AND DO NOT APPEAR 4 LONG PLAYERSFOR THE YOUNG CONSUMERS OF VINYL THIS WILL NEVER SELL AND FEW COLLIOGRAPERS WANTED TO BUY THIS BOX, THE NAZARETH'S, PUT THESE OF THIS SLADE BAND IN THE LIXEIRA, SINCE NAZARETH CAME ALL THE CDS OF THE BAND AND THE PRICE IS THE SAME AND THE MATERIAL OF THE SLADE CAME VERY POOR

PHENOMENAL SLADE BOX SET!!!! A MUST FOR ANY DIE HARD SLADE FAN
this is the nicest by far slayed box set from probably the most important era of there career, as it states this only focuses on the 1971 to 75 era HOWEVER i feel ambrose slade (69) and play it loud(1970) should have been included but by all means this is a 5 star box set, this is also a beautiful box set as the box itself is very thick, you get these 4 classic records on beautiful color viynl as well as 45 replicas from this era, a 2 cd set that covers everything on the 4 records as well as a replica of an awesome book about slade from 1975 as well as a few other goodies(this box is loaded), its hard to tell with box sets as some are cheap these days and some are very well done THIS IS PHENOMENALLY WELL DONE no cheap cash in here at all, again this is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you are a young slade fan that is not to familiar with them and have the extra money to burn and a turntable THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO START, this is one of the nicest box sets that came out in 2015, hopefully we can get a few sets like this from THE WHO, STATUS QUO AND UFO......................................SAXON TO

Fantastic! Buy it!
Fantastic box set. I felt like a kid again opening the box and seeing my old vinyl albums, only this time around in limited edition coloured vinyl. There are also 4 singles from back in day. A Slade annual and a book. Not listened to the CD yet. One for the car I think! All in all, a great collectors set of Slade at their best in the 70s

AWESOME NOIZE !!!!
What a great box set this is. The first slade album i owned was slade alive ! It is great to have a mint vinyl copy and red too. I missed all the hype in the early seventies as i was a small child. But in the early eighties as a teenager i was hooked and have loved them ever since. This box set is awesome, so do yourself a favour and grab a copy even if you have the albums already. The presentation of the albums is superb. They have reproduced them down to the finest detail and the singles are great too! Go on buy the noize. You wont regret it.
